Rehabilitation Engineering

Rehabilitation engineering uses engineering principles to help people with disabilities improve their independence and quality of life. In recent years, there has been an explosion of assistive technology devices, which allow individuals to overcome limitations in functioning. Redwood’s rehabilitation engineer uses problem solving and design skills to identify technology to promote independence in the areas of computer access, environmental control, job performance, mobility, communication, and activities of daily living.

Eligibility Requirements:

Children and adults with disabilities along with family members and professionals are eligible for the services listed above on a fee-for-service basis. A number of funding sources are accepted dependent on the specific services needed. Please contact Latasha Lampkin at 859.331.0880 for further information.
