Dietary Services

Good nutrition is the foundation of health and wellness and a basic need we all take for granted. Many children and adults who attend Redwood have extreme difficulty eating due to severe or multiple disabilities. Many cannot hold a spoon. Others require pureed foods because of chewing and swallowing difficulties, and still yet choking is likely with every bite. While it is challenging to feed these individuals, our staff takes great care to provide appetizing and nutritious meals and a pleasant mealtime experience each day. At the same time, we make every effort to encourage independence and give adults the dignity of choice in the types of food and beverages they would like to eat. Child and adult nutrition services use USDA approved foods and beverages for breakfast, lunch and snacks.

If you have questiions about Redwood's dietary program, call 859-331-0880 ext. 363 or Email.
